February (Febrero), 2019:
I can’t even express all the thoughts coursing through my brain as I recall the mostly naked young men and women who flock to local resorts for Spring Break in Los Cabos.
Thanks to MTV, we all know what Spring Break is about: Bikinis, debauchery, plenty of alcohol, and collegiates flocking to beaches en mass to work on their tans and run amok.
What is it about Spring break that makes these college-educated near-professionals leave their clothes and their common sense at home? Hmmmm…I actually quit wondering numerous years ago!
How can you go on an expensive vacation (usually on your parents’ dime and/or credit card) and really think what happens in , STAYS IN ? (you fill in the blank…for me, it was a Jamaica Cruise)
The countless number of busty women walking around town wearing string or thong bikinis to ‘continue to tan’ while off-resort is absolutely astounding! And does anybody really think wearing that shear lace beautiful aqua blue coverup actually covers up??
I’d like to remind everyone heading this way to the beautiful beaches, lower drinking age, to experience the Cabo Lifestyle of a few things:
- There ARE children who live here.
- Elementary and middle-schoolers shop with mom/dad in town.
- You may be surprised to learn there are actually professionals working behind those glass double doors you’re posing in front of.
- Those of us who live here full time or even for short periods each year do NOT want to watch you adjust your bikini top or bottom, primp your hair, or practice for selfies out on the street.
- Speaking on behalf of many of those professionals, we’d like to say, “take it back to the beach, babe”!
- For the other professionals living/working here, we’d like to say “YEAH!! Bring it on! You’re my aghast laugh of the morning”!
Most of the locals here (meaning Mexican locals) are very Catholic. Los Cabos exists because of tourism, and so all visitors are welcome and encouraged to shop and support local vendors (this means they’ll put up with pretty much everything you have to dish out!).
The main reason for this blog content is to remind you
- You’re in a different country! Take all precautions you would back home;
- Don’t buy drugs on the beach (most of those guys get kick-backs from the cops);
- If you drink to excess in the heat on the beach, you will suffer consequences. (this leads to videos you do NOT want posted online);
- Only use ATMs at a bank or that have a bank’s name on it (otherwise you don’t know who set it there);
- and Don’t flash your cash (many people living here are destitute).
The best word of advice you can be given is “Have fun, mind your manners, and don’t go out alone”
We’d love to hear about your visit…..send us an email or leave a comment to share!
