Los Cabos is back in business after Hurricane Norma!
Not just Los Cabos Real Estate, but community cleanup and refurbishment. We will now prepare for our High Tourism Season after Hurricane Norma. November thru April is our busiest time of year for visitors, and this paradise will look it’s best again before you arrive.
You may already be aware that most resorts/hotels-maintained power with the use of generators. In addition, required Desal plants provide communal water services. And Tropical Storm season is now over until next fall!
BUT: did you know those spectacular activities we all love were re-scheduled?
- Bisbee Black & Blue Tournament is still on. Yes, postponed due to Norma by a week, but still able to be enjoyed.
- The 56th anniversary Score International Baja 1000 race will be Nov 13-18th. In celebration, they’re running in reverse of previous years. Racers will leave LA PAZ and race will culminate in Ensenada.
- FITURCA, the resort’s very own tourism fund has awarded Los Cabos the world’s first verified “Sharecare health security verification” Travel Location. One of numerous awards the last 3 years!
- Foreign baby boomers, the largest group of buyers in Cabo, are experiencing “the grey wave” of intergenerational wealth transfer in unprecedented proportions. The wave is expected to continue for at least the next 2 decades. According to Forbes, this is because already successful baby boomers are inheriting US$16 trillion over the next 10 years. As of this morning, October 24th, there have been no reported fatalities due to Hurricane Norma. And only one tourist was reported injured. The main damage was to urban roads, marinas and boats, three of which sank, per the report by Santiago Jorge Morgado, commander of the Fourth Naval Region in La Paz. The Mexican navy said it has 5,000 marines deployed to attend the states affected by Norma. This effort includes ships, helicopters, trucks, food, water and first aid.
Beach-Goers will be happy, we’re sure!!
The Federal Maritime-Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat) announced they believe the beaches of Los Cabos can be used again on a regular basis within 5 days. During this period, beaches will be cleared of dangerous objects that arrived due to the waves generated by Hurricane Norma. “ We call on citizens and tourists not to go to the beach for safety reasons. But if you do; lend us a hand, and contribute effort so that beaches are clean as quickly as possible”
One of the most wonderful things about Baja Sur is the natural beauty of this area at Land’s End. If you haven’t made the journey, this fall is certainly the time to do so. Our real estate market has been exploding since 2021. Another wonderful thing that is not spoken of but should never be overlooked is the strength, endurance, and the ‘community’ of residents who support each other and their guests in times of need.
We are blessed every day!
With 360+ days of sunshine with average daytime temps in the mid-80’s for sure. Now that storm season is over until next fall, we’ll also enjoy evenings in the low 70s. Add to that the gentle breezes 24/7 will remind us we ‘made the right move’.
